Garden Ceremony Ideas

I am having a hard time trying to figure out what to incorporate into our ceremony. We are both not very religous and dont plan on having a relgious based ceremony so I am trying to find ideas to make our ceremony interesting. I dont want guests to feel like the ceremony is only 5 minutes!

Also, I love the idea of the wedding unity candles and sand but don't feel like either one of thsoe fit our theme. Its more garden type with love birds. Any ideas on a similar activity to incorporate that fits with our style?

Anything is appreciated! Im totally stuck!

Hello!  My fiance and I are having an outdoor ceremony in a garden.  We are planning on releasing doves for our wedding, and instead of a unity candel or sand, we are using a tree.  Both of us like gardening, as do both of our parents, so we are going to get a scoop of dirt from both their gardens and put it into the tree/pot during the ceremony.  We aren't having a religious ceremony either, so we thought the doves and the tree were good ideas and have a significance in our lives.  We will plant the tree in our back yard.  I've very excited about it!
