    You're not weird Paige.  The last couple of years I haven't spend NYE with my BF.  I have a friend who's birthday is on the 1st and she likes me to come over and celebrate with her. So I do that and he does whatever he wants too.  It's no big deal.  IMHO NYE isn't that big of a deal anyways, it's just like any old day to me.....

    Honestly, it's a little weird, but to each their own.  I've always spent NYE with my SO because I really like the kiss at midnight.  I'm also very superstitious, so if you don't start the year together, you don't end the year together.  I also wear a new outfit (including new underwear) because according to Portuguese superstition, if you don't start the new year off with new clothes, you won't be able to afford new clothes come next year.
