My girls have had these since they were babies. $25 or so at petco and petsmart. They love scratching the hell out of it, and sometimes use it as a recliner and drink margaritas.

I was actually at the pet store before I saw this post. I got something similar (it's just a flat scratcher) plus a ton of other toys. My cats are too manly for margaritas...they drink beer instead:
