Re: Friday Randoms

  • Liv- I've totally done that before. I tell them to just get dead ends off, they chop off inches, and then I'm completely frustrated and get all angry inside every time I look in a mirror. Sometimes I pull my hair thinking maybe it will get just a little bit longer  :-O

  • After my confession last week, I spoke with my friend and I think our friendship is stronger. I wasn't a very good friend.

I confess I regret changing my Facebook to say I am in a relationship with J, cause now I don't know if it was the right choice. B and I had a very long talk yesterday and nothing has changed. I thought I was choosing J.... I am bloging this just so those who do want to read more can.
I just wish that I could fast forward one year from now.  I really would like to get on with my life. Irrational confession, I feel like when the G2G in Arizona comes about I will be the odd one out.  And not have anything in common with anyone.  Yes I'm that silly.

Late to the post since I've been flying all day BUT . . . you will not be the odd girl out.  Plus, you and Hulu and I will be all extra bonded by the time we get there anyway!
  • I confess that I'm really disappointed that I won't see BF this weekend. Now I have no plans for the weekend...
I confess I'm jealous a bunch of you are close enough that you can have such a big GTG.  I'd love to meet you guys. Random events today include me dressing in my 80s outfit from work last week and playing dodgeball with my coworkers tonight.  I'll try to post pictures.<strong> Also I'm meeting Sopchick today, yay!!!!!</strong>
I flame myself for somehow forgetting to take one of my BC. Not in a 'oh, i noticed the next day and doubled up' but as in 'FI found it on the floor of our closet.' Meaning I put it in my pocket to take later and forgot, took my pants off that night, and it fell on the floor. I assumed it was recent, so I took it that day. The next day, I started spotting. Yesterday, I forgot to take my pill so I doubled up again today. Uncharacteristically, FI and I have had sexytimes twice this week. I DO want a baby but now would be not-so-great timing and I think FI would be mad at me. Not to mention I'd be dealing w/ morning sickness at our wedding. Please don't let me be pregnant.

    TMI WARNING:
*unpregnant fingers are crossed for you!*  We just had a scare too.  A morning-after-pill kind of condom-broke scare.  Still not technically out of the clear.  All I'm saying is a 7 month baby bump will NOT fit in my wedding dress so I guess I should cross everything for both of us!!
My confession is FI and I are doing some serious planning. We have been considering a <strong>synagogue ceremony</strong> and a BBQ at a local park probably in early September. We have been looking at caterers and so far, our favorite so far is a local deli that does their cooking on-site AND they can do a <strong>pig roast</strong>. Epic. Win. But we have to discuss it with my grandparents because they are helping out, money-wise. My second confession is, I hate discussing money, even though my grandparents and FI's parents have agreed to help pay. I don't want to bring it up but we can't do anything until we bring it up. It's just so uncomfortable. F*ck. My third confession is I am seriously obsessed with "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives."

Bella, I'm sorry, but I laughed at seeing the two bolded terms together. Not that you have to be kosher, but I thought it was funny.
  • Wow, sounds like most of us are having sucky weeks.

My ear is killing me. And my tongue. I think I may have an ear infection. This happened last time I had one. Ick. :( What 22 year old get's these...

Then this morning I dropped a can on my toe. And now my toe nail is cracked in the very back of my nail. The whole nail will fall off soon now. GROSS.

And the real kicker.... I switched birth control pills. I have been having my period for 2 frickin' weeks now. And I called my obgyn and she said, "Oh the first 3 months it is totally normal. Some girls spot or have breakthrough bleeding the whooooolllle time." Oh superb. I DON'T WANT TO HAVE MY PERIOD FOR 3 MONTHS!!!!

  • Confession:  I didn't read most of this thread but want to know if there is anything juicy.

Confession:  I think I am one of the few pregnant women who wants to go all the way to 40 weeks and wouldn't mind being overdue.  I think that constantly complaining about all of the NORMAL symptoms of pregnancy and hoping to go into labor early is effing selfish.  Recent studies have shown that 39 weeks is highly preferable over 37 weeks.  In fact, my OB refers to 37 weeks as 'almost-to-term,' not 'term.'

Random:  My husband is awesome.  He finished my bathtub in time for me to take a bath for my birthday.  A bath that did not involve moving toys, foam letters or a nonslip mat.  He bought the best bubble bath I've ever smelled and it made my skin feel silky smooth.  Plus he surprised me by buying and lighting candles.

(Still need to put the mirror up above the vanity.)
Polka - what pill are you on?  Seasonale/Seasonique?  (Or a generic.)  I just went back on that.  The first time I was on it (2006-2008) I had zero spotting for the first year.  And then I took a different generic brand for 3 months and then I was spotting constantly.  It never went away so I changed pills like 8 times until I went on NuvaRing, and finally the spotting stopped.  (And then I went off the ring because I didn't like the side effects.) I've had a little bit of minor spotting (I'm on week 4 of the pack) but it's not awful.  If you can stick it out for the next few months, you might be totally fine.  It when you start randomly spotting after being on the same pill for a while that your doctor might be concerned.

<div>I'm on a generic now. Tri-sprintec it's called. It started off just spotting, but now it's full on period. I hope it slows down. Sunday is when I start taking the sugar pills, so we'll see. I hope after those it is better. I'm at the very end of week 3 of the 1st pack right now.</div><div>
</div><div>Good to hear someone else spotted too. The obgyn says it's a normal not concerning side effect, but it is a big giant nuisance.  </div>
In Response to Re: Friday Randoms : Ohh is it a normal 3 weeks on, one week off type of pill?  Seasonale is the one where you get a period 4 times a year, so I figured that's the one you were on (because of the 3 months of spotting).  That seems weird that a normal pill would cause that much spotting.  But everytime I still had spotting with the regular pills, I waited until I'd been through at least 2 or 3 months before trying another kind.  That was a really stressful year for me.
    Posted by yaga13
<div>oooo, yeah. Just the 3 weeks on one week off one. I don't know why 3 months is 'normal'. Icky. I think I'll stick it out for at least another month. If it's still horrible, I'll switch. I want to be on birth control partly because my 'normal' period is 8 days long. 3 months of bleeding to get a 'shorter' period down the road? hmmm...</div>
Mutley, that is really sweet of your husband. And also your bathroom looks awesome. I also have to say I really respect the way you view your pregnancies and parenting. You seem very child-centered, level-headed, and calm about the whole thing and I admire that. Also you did not miss anything juicy. Polka, I've bled for 100+ days before, it is not fun. I wonder if a different pill would work better. It's kind of hard because it's often times one of those "wait and see" kind of things while your body sorts itself out. :(
