I've been inspired by Elle & Lyn and really want to do something cute for my BMs and MOH. I've already technical asked 3 out of 4 of them (4th is FI's sister & she has no idea I'm going to ask her) but they all already knew they'd be in our wedding party eventually anyway. Even though I've asked them, I'd like to do a little something. Possibly relavant point: FSIL lives in our town, two other girls live in different states, and the other is overseas right now for work but would get the gift when she returns).
Anyway, I picked up some local Tahoe guides when we were up there so they can get to know the area (MOH actually has a vacation home up there but I'll include this stuff with hers too). I also bought them each a calendar with Tahoe pictures & was planning to mark our wedding date with a little heart & attach a note to it that says something along the lines of, "hope you're not busy September 29th . . . " Then, after that, I was stumped. I went to Michael's yesterday for inspiration and have a tentative idea. They had these wooden wine bottle canisters with unfinished, sanded wood. I thought about buying four of those, painting them (maybe spraypaint metallic gold?), then putting each girl's initial on it (painted with a different color). Then I'd roll the Tahoe guides up and insert them into the canister. I'd also put a "ticket" in there that says something like, "show up at the bachelorette party to collect the bottle of wine that belongs here." (something worded better - suggestions?) I might also put a few cute girly things in there - lipgloss or nail file or something like that. The calendar wouldn't fit in the canister but since I'd have to mail them in boxes anyway I could tie it with yarn or ribbon and attach it to the handle instead. Does all that make any sense? And would that be a gift you'd like to receive?
