Welcome! Please stick around.. these ladies are fun :)

How long have you been on the knot?
I've been posting for few months.. I think I signed up way back when though.

Would you prefer your proposal to be/ or have been a suprise?
Surprise! I think it would be boring to know it was coming.  I'd also rather there not be friends and family around when it happens and it would be nice to have  camera ready to capture the crazy look on my face :)

What was the highlight of today?
Other than it being FRIDAY :) Nothing exciting yet.  I weighed myself this morning and saw that I lost about 2lbs.

OP:
What is your favorite book?
How long have you and BF been together?
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Worst habit?
Favorite cocktail (if you drink)?

This is a post and run, so I'll check back later!
Welcome! Please stick around.. these ladies are fun :) Posted by ADTonk
I think I'll be around for quite a long time! Having a community of supportive people is so important! Especially in times of change.

<strong>What is your favorite book?</strong> <span>Made from Scratch: Discovering the Pleasures of a Handmade Life by Jenna Woginrich. I really love this book. It gave me a glimpse of what my future life might look like! I would like to have a backyard flock of hens, have a big garden and a hive of bees. </span>

<strong>How long have you and BF been together?</strong> Almost a year, but I knew after the third date that I wanted to marry him. :)

<strong>What do you want to be when you grow up?</strong> A wife and mother. A caretaker of hens and a beekeeper. Possibly a massage therapist. I want to be able to help women that are stuggling with everyday life.

<strong>Worst habit? I</strong> take things too personally and at times, I'm too sensitive. I also suck at remembering to take all my vitamins.

<strong>Favorite cocktail (if you drink)?</strong> A gin gimlet (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gimlet_(cocktail)">clicky</a>)

These are great questions!!!

What are your answers? :)

What is your favorite book?
My favorite is more of a series - 11 to be exact - the Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris.  I love the show True Blood (the show is based off of the books) but as always, the books are sooooo much better.

How long have you and BF been together?
See ticker below.  We're almost past the 7 year itch!! haha

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A teacher (already there) with a masters degree (not there yet but thinking on building upon special ed or going towards autism studies or speech and language therapy) and a wife and mom (not there yet either).

Worst habit?
Not keeping up with dishes and laundry.  By the time I get home from work and eat dinner, I'm D-O-N-E, done.

Favorite cocktail (if you drink)?
Jager Bombs (more of a shot than a cocktail) and bahama mamas. A friend of mine showed me how to make them in bulk and they are oh so good :)

This gimlet sounds good.  BF is a big gin and tonic drinker so he might like it.  I think we'll have to try it out tonight.  Thanks for the rec!

Hi and welcome.  I have a feeling you are going to fit in just great here!

How long have you been on the knot?  Since October of last year.  I went a little BSC then realized that I was crazy through the help of these ladies and I calmed down.

Would you prefer your proposal to be/ or have been a surprise?  I want it to be a surprise.  I don't even want to know when he buys the ring.  Sadly I can be a good detective and I might figure it out.  But it is a long ways away from coming so I don't have to worry.

What was the highlight of today?  Taking a shower.  My legs are in serious need of a shaving.

I am sad that you a moving to CO.  I live up near Tahoe but San Fran is only 2 and a half hours away.

Oh- I'll be back frequently! My parents will still live in the East Bay and I'm VERY close with them...so I see myself coming back at least once every 4 months...:)

And I LOVEEEEEE Tahoe! Are you up by Truckee? Or Donner? I would love to take a visit up there with the SO. Tahoe is one of my all time favorite places!!

I love California! But I think I'll love Colorado too. My mom told me that I have to bloom where I'm planted. :) I'm pretty good at it.

Well that is good.  I love CA so much too!
I am about an hour below Tahoe off of Highway 50.  But my Aunt has a cabin up by Truckee.  I love Tahoe and the forest. :) <3

Love that area! I used to live in Sacramento (Woodland, actually) and went on a couple dates with a guy from Truckeee so sometimes after work (!!) I would speed up the freeway to see him. I love that place. At one point he lived In Placerville- and I came to see him there too.

Has there ever been a NYE Get together?

My mom was on a message board like this for weight loss- and they all started training for a marathon together. A year later- they all got together and walked the portland marathon! Isn't that awesome?!

Yay! Another gin drinker! This makes me happy. Some of my friends from NEY told me that only grandpas drink gin. I disagree. It's delicious!

How long have you been on the knot?
A little over a year..didn't do much when I first signed up..then I got super anxious to get engaged a couple months ago, went BSC and totally started pre planning. Then I found NEY-read the sticky and went OMG that's me! I need to chill out!  So I've been now trying to stay sane here on this board-even though I mostly lurk. I don't have nearly as much good advice to post as everyone else!

Would you prefer your proposal to be/ or have been a suprise?
I would love a total surprise- I don't want to know about when he buys a ring or anything. I don't think I will know at all though because he is good at surprises and is somewhat traditional in the sense that he thinks I shouldn't know anything about it. I don't know if he even realizes so many women go and pick out their own rings!

What was the highlight of today?
Nothing. Sorry, I'm depressing. Well, it's Friday so that's good and I may order a pizza soon :)

What was the highlight of today?
Making dinner/dessert with friends and relaxing all evening.  It was lovely.

Colorado is awesome :-)  The weather is a bit variable but the people are great and there are lots of transplants here (BF is a native and I tease him about the invasion all the time). After a couple years in Colorado I find it a very welcoming place with tons to do... you'll enjoy it.
