I couldn't view this at work because of all the PIP and I practically shoved the train to get home faster to see them.

Elle, your ring is a stunner !!

If money was no object, I'd love this DeBeers ring cause I mean, it has pink diamonds... pink!

But design wise, I'm a sucker for these crisss-crossed ones.

Sometimes I have a secret wish that my e-ring could be bigger.  I have a .25 carat diamond solitaire in 14K white gold.  What I would pick if I could:

    Something very similar to this.
In Response to Re: S/O "Dream" Rings : Indeed.  We contacted several jewelers when we were ready to get started, and they were our favorites and the quickest to respond.  I worked with Beth, not Joe, though.  She was great, other than accidentally sending me the shipment notification instead of BF (I wasn't supposed to know when the ring was finished). I didn't know you were getting your ring remade.  Are you getting something totally different?
    Posted by Elle1036
Not completely different. Just making the head sit a little lower, and other little changes like that. Trying to make it look more classic and elegant; I'm afraid I'll grow out of the first one. Oh, and I'm going from a cushion to an OEC. :)

    As for my dream ring:

If price were no object, I'd get the same ring I have now, but I'd do a 2 ct center stone.  Any bigger than 2 ct and I think they start to look fake.

    My current dream ring.

There are many more on the site with that ring that I love as well. [danforthdiamond.com] But currently, this is it.

I'm a sucker for ovals and micropave.  Something like this would be my dream ring, although I'm certain I'd bang it into things and get it all messy since I work with my hands for a living.

This is far too expensive to me but BF likes it and I love it except the price. Its the background on my phone.

Its from JC Penney and is bigger than the one I originally fell in love with and asked you guys about metals. This one is a 14k White gold with a little more sparkle than the orignial one. I love the lines of it too. But now Im just ring-rambling.

Am I the only one who likes yellow gold? I used to want white gold but then I heard it takes more up keep and I really don't want to have to mess with anything like that so now I'm set on yellow gold.

In general, I prefer white metals. I have, however, seen some gorgeous yellow gold rings that I don't think would be as pretty with white gold. With any kind of colored stones, I like white better. It doesn't compete with the color of the gem. But a simple solitaire with a thin band is stunning in yellow gold. I liked the topaz ring you posted earlier a lot, but if it were MY ring, I'd get it in white gold. Actually, I'd get it in palladium, but that's another issue.

I do not like yellow gold because it does not look right with my skin tone. I have way too much pink in my skin tone and I just do not like the way yellow gold looks against it. White metals look much better on my skin tone.

My ring is actually not white gold, it is palladium. I did not want white gold for the same reason as you, the up keep. I went with palladium because it is a naturally white metal so I would not have to ever get it rhodium plated.
