[QUOTE]I have one! If you are collecting unemployment you should be required to spending x amount of hours may be 20 a week ot something reasonable donating your time to something, or some place.  Collecting trash near highways, working in a soup kitchen/homeless shelter, in areas where there are farms- help in that aspect.  You should give back in some way for what you get, and may be this is true and varies for some states....

<div>I do like this idea, however some people do productive things when they are also looking for a job - work on writing a book, design an invention, build their portfolio, massive home improvements.  My dad built a master suite in my parents' house while he was unemployed.  I'm sure he would have rather been working, but it wasn't easy for him to find a job.  At least he was getting some kind of income so that my mom didn't have to provide for the family, and he was doing something he enjoyed doing.  It also allowed him to be able to do work for my Nana and other family members when they needed it.  </div>
  • I also loved, and miss my acrylic, french manicured nails. LOVED. I'm really white trash at heart.

BUT I think people who don't have health insurance, and refuse to follow their recommended diet, medication regime (with medications they get for FREE), or quit smoking, or drinking, or shooting up should only get a certain number of hospital admissions per MONTH.  (this last one may be slightly influenced by the last couple of shifts I've had)

<div>It's definitely not, but it's not like he's sitting on his ass doing nothing.  Or was, he's got a job now.  Also, whenever he had a paying job, he had to report that income and was docked employment benefits.  I'd rather see that enforced first (no working under the table AND getting unemployment) before making everyone do volunteer work when they may be doing something productive in their "free" time.  </div><div>
</div><div>ETA: I do think volunteer work is a good idea though.  It just might be harmful for people who are doing something productive for their career or home while they are unemployed.  </div>

I like french manicures, usually on my toes only though because I like a color on my fingers.

I am totally on-board with people who are collecting welfare being drug-tested. If they fail they should be required to go to meetings/counseling/something.

    Agreed.

I love french manicures - my gel/acyrlics whatever are colored french manicures. I love them. But I acknowledge that I'm a little crazy lol.

I can't stand it when people where shoes that don't fit them. I am really like a 5 3/4 - some f 1/2's are too small, and a lot of 6's are too big - I don't have a choice most of the time. So when people do it voluntarily simply because they refuse to admit they are a large size, or because they love the shoe that much - it irritates the sh!t out of me.

I hate it when people order the largest size order at a fast food restaurant and then order a diet soda thinking that will help them with their weight.... Really????

  • Irish- I never find shoes that fit well.  I'm a size 4, so depending on the shoe sometimes it will be big.  I just got a new pair of sneakers and I had to go down to a size 3, they are kids shoes, but they don't look like a kids's shoe.  At least I hope not!!

This is true. I used to sell shoes for 4 1/2 years - So I'm a little biased. I saw so many people do it simply because they loved the shoe or didn't want to admit they needed a size 11 - they would buy the 10 even though they were hanging off the back, or their foot looked like the blob in the shoe. You are right, there are a lot of people like me that have weird feet.

Probably an unpopular opinion and impossible logistically but I think people should have to take a road test every five years to renew their license. I moved to Chicago from a small town in Michigan and NEVER dealt with people who drove like this. Shoulders, merging over when there's clearly no space, etc etc. I never used to be road rage-y but I am pissed off constantly when I drive now. It would be nice to see, especially around here, if people had to drive with someone who would actually enforce rules if they can even remember when to use a proper turn signal etc. Sorry. Had an annoying commute this morning.

I must say though Elle...I can not get your dress out of my head! I gushed over every pic you posted on here and on FB. I <em>may</em>  have gotten a little girl crush on you in that dress!

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: I've got an UO! : I love the red!  I'm planning on doing a dark color for my wedding day.  I don't know why I don't like them so much.  I think in high school, girls used to get those with the acrylic tips and they just looked so awful to me.  In all honesty, yours and some other ones I've seen do not look as bad as the ones I remember from my younger days.  But I prefer color in all cases.

I've only had two french manicures ever in my life.  The second one is currently in its last days.

So maybe it's because I'm sort of a manicure novice, but I like them.  They make my fingers look long and thin.  Or at least I feel like they do.
