    Indeed, sapphires come in lighter blue. The ones from Ceylon in particular tend to be lighter shades. Topaz can also be found in blue.

    Before I decided on a sapphire, I was really interested in aquamarine. I wouldn't go with opal because it is probably too soft for an e-ring, though I did consider it. I just loved the look of the sapphire, and I'm really please with my ring :)

    HTH, although I'm tired and have spent the entire day with my future in-laws . . . so nothing I say has to make sense. . .

    This is an awesome blog of a fantastic Etsy designer.


    Her name is Tamara and her stuff is really different.  She uses a lot of recycled materials, which personally, I think rocks.  Even if she doesn't have anything you like, she uses a bunch of different stones that are not diamonds or diamond like.
