Hello. I have been lurking for awhile but have decided that it is time to introduce myself as me and BF have been talking more and more about getting engaged lately. I usually post over on the bump and nest but have come over here to start looking at planning our wedding when the time should come.
We have been together for a year and a half now. Not engaged yet but living together. He has a 7yr old son. We had a late pregnancy loss back in September and are trying again. We are not the traditional couple of marriage before kids. We also have a furbaby, DaKota our cat.
I look forward to getting to know you ladies.

ANGELS ARE GIVEN WINGS AND TAKEN BACK TOO SOON --- We love and miss you soo much Kacie Rae --- 9/11/10 --- born sleeping at 29wks2d

Mmmm I can forgive you for not being into the movies. Honestly, I wouldn't like them at all if I weren't such a big fan of the books.
The books, however, rule.
[QUOTE]BTW Elle, I LOVE HP-- so now you know.

Yippeeeeee! Today rules.
I will watch the movies, but only in a social setting where other people want to.
[QUOTE]Now thanks to TK. I have decided to get the HP book series. I've never read them, and have only seen like 1 movie. There. I said it. It's alll out in the open now.

Yay!! Another convert (hopefully)!
Really, the first book is not the best of the series. Actually the first couple still have that "kid's book" feel to them. They get darker as the series progresses, so my suggestion is to try to read the first 2-3 books, and then see how you feel.
PPs, I also love HP, cheese, mac & cheese, pandas, mashed potatoes, and almost any sweet food (breakfast, dessert). I'm also kind of a foodie, too. Been known to splurge on a nice restaurant a little too often.

SeaTea, I read the first HP wayyy back when and didn't like it at all. I actually think I didn't quite finish it. Then I watched the first 5 movies, and thought they were alright.
Then the summer before last, I went back and read the entire HP book series. and LOVED it this time around. Noelle is right, the first one isn't the best at all.
P.S. The same goes for you non-HP loving OP
2. Bren your back!! Oh how I missed you around these here parts!

Hollaaaa! ;)
I appeared yesterday while you were off being Busy McGee.
Sea -- I didn't really fall in love with the series until the last few chapters of the third book (mindblowing!!). I thought the first two were "cute". They mature pretty rapidly after that point. I caught myself saying "this is a children's book?" several times while reading 5, 6, and 7.
What's really interesting is that after you've read the whole series, you can kinda see the first 2 books in a whole new light. There's some really important stuff there, but you don't get it until you know how it all turns out.
Coastie -- you've just made me so happy. When you start reading, you need to post updates for me so I can follow your progress! Nothing makes me happier that watching people experience the books for the first time.
And for the HP sub-thread - I love love love HP. The first book came out when I was 7 so I grew up on them. Can't wait for the movie next weekend!
