You shouldn't worry about what your first dance song is if you really like it, which it sounds like you do. Personal preference, I do not like Nickleback, at all - but it's your wedding, and it's special moment for you and your husband. Go for it!
I don't know the song, but as long as there's nothing questionable in the lyrics (ie "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston is really a break up song, Hinder's "Lips of An Angel" is about wanting to be with another woman, etc), go for it! Choosing a song you love that has meaning to you is rarely tacky.
My fiance and I absolutely LOVE this song! I thought about it for our first dance, but we decided that it was a little bit tacky. The lyrics are perfect, but I don't think that Chad Kroeger's voice is very romantic. It's definitely on our Must-Play list, but not as our first dance.
I personally love this song and it is a contender for our first dance. We really love 1,2,3,4, by plain white t's but neither of us are graceful enough to dance to the tempo lol.
I think it could be a great song especially the line "Never gonna be alone, FROM THIS MOMENT ON" Great song and go with it if you want it. But definitely make sure it has some kind of meaning for you.
Re: "Never Gonna be Alone" by Nickelback. Tacky for a first dance song?
