Anyone ever return a dress to David's Bridal online?

I bought a dress online and got it today but it is a little tight and I need to return it for the next size up. Their return policy is a nightmare. One of the things they ask for is that the manufacturer's labeled packaging must be enclosed within an additional shipping carton. No stickers or shipping labels are to go on the original package. Really?? So I have to put the big box that the dress came in into a slightly bigger box? That makes no sense. Can I just take it out of that box and put it into a regular cardboard box? Can I really just send it back in the original box? I really had to dig to find the place where it said I had to put it into another box.

  • That's ridiculous!  I've never bought anything from them online, so I don't know for sure, but I would call them and clarify before mailing.  PS:  Their dresses always run a size small :(

  • I'm sure it has something to do with fraud.  People who scam make us honest people go through more hoops.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • You're lucky you can return it at all.  Most dress places only take a dress back if there are manufacturer defects, not because you bought the wrong size.
  • I'd be happy you can return it at all because, as heels pointed out, most won't let you return because you bought the wrong size.

  • I did.  I returned it with the RMA I requested back in the box they sent it to me in.  I ordered 2 dresses within 3 days and had to return both of them.  The only problem that I had was that it took 5 months to get my money returned to me.  They had lost track that the dresses had been returned.  My advice to you is to make sure to hold on to your tracking info and check monthly to make sure your money was returned!
  • I ordered a dress from them and it wasn't very flattering, so I tried to return it. couldn't do it at all. by the time I received the dress, the return period had already lapsed. fml. I'll have to sell it to a consignment shop--hopefully I can sell it for more since it has never been worn.
