Hair & Make Up Booking?

Hello Ladies! Hope everyone is actually enjoying the sun today! Just had a question. . .When booking hair and make up, did you sign a contract with them (even something simple) or did they just "write you in" their book? I am referring to more of the type of stylists/MUA's that work out of salons and not run their own "on site" business as I have seen.. TIA!

    We're using a salon and I did not sign a contract with them. They took a cc deposit of a % of the total services to hold the appointments.

    I signed a contract for my make-up artist but the person that did my hair just wrote me in her book. She was also one of my bridesmaids' sister. I did ask if she wanted a deposit, etc, just in case but then she said no. It never hurts to ask if they don't ask you.
