You have no idea how I would feel.  I also have no idea how I would feel, because you're right, it's hard to speak in hypotheticals about something like this if you haven't experienced it.  But that doesn't mean that I think it should be illegal.  And at the current time, I truly don't think I would try to stop them.  Even if for no other reason than knowing it would be pointless to try.

Also, I feel the need to point out that this applies to more than just brothers and sisters.

I think it's ignorant not because I don't think you know what a brother/sister relationship is like, but because you're refusing to try to look at it from any perspective other than what's already known and comfortable to you.  Because YOU think it's disgusting and insane, everyone else must too, right?  And there are no other options.  No other reasons behind why someone might want to enter an incestual relationship.  The only possible reason/explanation is that they're disgusting and crazy.  THAT is an ignorant mindset.

Ally, you're also assuming that these incestual relationships are between people who grew up together.  What if someone was adopted, met their biological half sibling, fell in love with them and THEN found out they were biologically related?  Are they sick and twisted then?  What if their relationship was important enough to them that they wanted to stay together and adopt children instead of having biological children?  Should that be illegal too?

I wasn't talking about sex at all.  I was talking about marriage/relationships, of my GROWN children--you know, the ones that would be of legal age to enter into a marriage together.  Which is a huge difference than catching my underage children banging it out under my roof.

For clarification, I would not be pleased to find my underage children having sex with ANYONE.  And yes, I would do what I could to stop that.  WTF, did you seriously think I would walk in on my underage children having sex and be like "whoops, sorry, you kids have fun!"?  You're even stupider than I thought.

You are missing the point SO HARD.

Yes, the idea of siblings having sex is not something that is appealing to me.  BUT THE POINT is that things shouldn't be illegal just because some (or most, even) people find them GROSS.  They should be illegal if they interfere with the wellbeing or safety of other people or the goverment. 

Look, I work in the mental health field.  I have come into contact with MANY things far stranger than people having sex with their siblings.  If I told you half of what I encountered working with sex offenders, you'd be begging me to stop.  Siblings having sex is not high on my list of things to prevent people from doing.
