Too much veil? :/

Is this too much veil? I have a cathedral veil on PLUS my other one..... I'll remove the cathedral veil for the reception.... What is your opinion?

  • I kind of love the double veil look based on your picture, but I think the cathedral would get in the way at the reception, so my vote is to remove the cathedral for the reception.

  • So you have two veils on? I didn't know that people did that. I'd stick with one.

  • The picture looks nice, I cant tell that your wearing 2 veils in it
  • I would stick with one. Choose one that you really like and go with that.
  • Honestly I find veils like that SO distracting and all I see is the veil, not the bride.

  • I love the cathedral veil because I'm a shy bride and not looking forward to being the focus of the day.... So I kind of feel like I can hide behind the cathedral veil and then take it off for the reception. I don't really want to wear the other veil but my mom is insisting I keep one on for the reception and I truly belive the cathedral veil is impractical for the reception. And well.... because mom is helping foot the bill she has a say I suppose.

  • I would think the cathedral veil awkward outside of the cathedral or place you're getting married.

Usually when I see veils worn at the reception they're short/birdcage veils.

How are you going to eat your meal/cake/etc. without it getting in the way?   Or if you're having any sort of photography after the ceremony, it might suck to get your photos back and have the veil blocking letting everyone see how happy your face was. Just a thought.
  • IMO, I hate when brides wear their veils during the reception.  I think they look great for the ceremony but they just get in the way during the party.  My one friend wore her veil the entire day and every time someone gave her a hug it yanked on the veil which then yanked on her head...by the end of the night she was completely over the veil.

  • I think both of them together look really cool!!! I would definitely take the cathedral one off for the Reception just because it could get in the way.. A smaller veil for the reception isn't so uncommon anymore! I mean come on - more and more girls are wearing a veil to the bachelorette party, if they can do that, then you can certainly wear a veil to your own reception. You are the Bride! Another point would be that a lot of girls make the veils fit into their hairstyle, so it is just like an accessory (if you want to think of it that way). My opinion though...

Definitely take the cathedral length veil off for the reception if you decide to wear it for the ceremony. I had a cathedral length veil for my first wedding and had planned to take it off for the reception, but I loved it so much, I refused to take it off and then wound up with all these silly looking pictures of me with my veil wrapped around my arm to keep it out of the way.
