not 100% happy with my dress (Heart and my head are conflicting)

I'm not getting married til Oct 20, 2013 so I thought that I would do some searching and pinpoint exactly what I wanted in a gown before finally making a purchase in September.
I took 2 consecutive weekends going toa total of 5 salons.  I fell in love with Henry Roth's Kathey but was hesitant to "pull the trigger " because  1)I still had one more appointment that day that I had to show up for or lose $50 and 2) i wanted to have a cushion in the bank 3) it was the end of the appointment and she had another bride waiting.
On a whim we went into Macy's  because i remember them having wedding dresses. I saw a dress but my aunt talked me out of pulling it because it was not what I was leaning towards. We found a dress that my aunt loved and my family loved when comparing pictures. ( Both moms had seen me in some dresses and we sent stock photos of the ones I loved , and me in the dress at Macys.) I came to realize that the flower one shoulder reminded me of the Henry Roth. When I went home I called the local Demterios at Tyson's Corner to see if they could find the dressI tried on in NY. They actually keep it in stock. I decided I wanted to see what they had and they had the dress that my aunt had talked me out of trying on.

When I put it on it was so comfortable and beutiful but i was still hesistant. I gave them my info and made an appointment to come back during the truck show when the store was 15% off. I relized driving home that the skirt reminded me of the Henry Roth. I invited my FMIL to come see the Demetrios gown hoping that she would talk me out of it. She liked it at first and then she LOVED it and i felt so guilty for having taken up 2 hours of the sales woman time.

I started to think the Henry Roth is 2600- (15%)390= 2210+(8%)176.8=2386.8 ,  then to add in the alterations, train tickets from DC-NY and back(300)for who knows how many trips for alterations, the hotel VS the Demetrios 2400-(15%)360=2042, the hollow hem was 150 and the dress should not need that much alterations becouse it is a corset dress.

I put the 1/2 down on the dress but I keep thinking about that Henry Roth though.

What should I do?

This is the single most important garment you will ever wear. It's worth it to go with your heart if you can swing it. Cut costs on other parts of the wedding. Good luck and let us know what you decide!

You don't need to get it altered there. Buy the dress, bring it home, and have it altered at home. Or, just find a shop around here that carries it and try on the original. However, since you already put down half on the first dress, the first step is to find out how much you are going to lose by cancelling. It may not be worth it in the first place.

</div><div>I did try on the original at Klienfeilds. If you ever watched say yes to the dress you have seen Henry Roth, his gowns etc. I took a trip to NY a few weeks ago and Klienfeilds was one of the apointments. He not as exclusive as Panina Torni who gowns start at 7000 and go up to 70k.</div><div>
</div><div>I think I would forfit the deposit. I may just sell the dress. Give a girl a chance to have a designer gown at a drastic discount. </div>
