Trial Run Updo

Do you have to pay your stylist when she shows you what kind of updo she can do?

Re: Trial Run Updo

  • Yes, you will usually have to pay for a hair trial.  My trial actually cost as much as it's going to cost on my wedding day (which makes sense, because she spent just as much time, if not more).   Your stylists "wedding day service" may include a free hair trial, but you should still tip even if the trial is free.

  • Mine is free, but I have seen it go both ways.

  • My hair/makeup trial will be about the same as it will the day of the wedding.  I think it may be $10 cheaper.
  • My hair trial costed money, but my hair was free on the wedding day because my BMs and the mothers also got their hair done there.
  • I have to pay for my hair trial and I will tip - they're still doing work. I already have a few ideas in mind of what I want to do with my hair so I will be bringing pictures.

  • I am paying for my hair trial, but she's doing it at a reduced rate because she loves me and she's my regular stylist.  I plan on tipping her for the trial because she rocks.
