Too much Jewelry/Accessories???

I am having issues with my accessories!!!  To help you understand where I am coming from, I will start by saying that I am an extremely bling/sparkly princess wedding type of person.  There will be bling in the flowers that my bridesmaids will carry and each of their bouquets are going to be wrapped with a brooch.  And my dress itself has lots of beading and rhinestones on the top part, and my veil is also dotted with rhinestones all over.  That being said, I originally wanted to wear bigger earrings and wear no necklace at all, or the one that I bought at Kohl's (picture below).  My mom hated the earrings and I ended up taking them back to Nordstrom and purchasing a pair that my mom liked online (photo below).  Then while I was out shopping today my FMIL bought me a necklace and a bracelet that are beautiful, and definitely my style, but now I feel like I should wear the necklace to make her happy but I am scared that with all the other bling it will be too much.  I originally planned on wearing a headpiece too, but now I dont know that I want to.  Please help!!!

I don't have any pictures really to show you of the veil but here is my dress:

Here is a picture of the earrings I just bought to replace the chandelier ones:

Here is the necklace that I originally purchased to go with the dress:

Here is a picture of the necklace my FMIL bought me, I don't have a picture of the bracelet but it is pretty simple, like a tennis style.  I think I will wear the bracelet no matter what:

Also the necklace looks kind of blueish in the picture but it is not really that blue in person, just taken with a cell phone camera...

Re: Too much Jewelry/Accessories???

  • I think with the dress, the earrings, and either necklace, but espeically the bottom one, you will have a LOT going on.
I would do the earrings, no necklace, I think it will take away from the dress
  • I love that dress!  I think my style is a little different then yours but I would consider just wearing the earrings so as not to take away from the dress.  Out of the two necklaces, I like the first better.  When it doubt, I always go with less is more...
  • I would probably skip the necklaces.  The bodice of that dress is very detailed.  The second necklace would be WAY to much for that dress.  The first necklace would be fine, but I still think is totally unnecessary with that dress.
  • Skip the necklace, either one would be overkill with that dress. Since you have sparkle going on with the veil I wouldn't wear a blingy headpiece with it, if you plan on taking it off after the ceremony you could put in something small. Even if you like bling the focus should be on you not what you are wearing.

  • I would go with a very simple necklace or none at all. That dress has so much going on, you'd be overwhelming and no one would know where to look. If you look at the Real Maggie Brides pic, that bride has no necklace on, just smaller earrings. It looks best that way so that guests know where to focus their attention. You want them to see your face-not all your jewelry.
You could just wear the necklaceto the rehearsal instead :) That way, you won't feel guilty about not wearing it at your wedding.
