where to buy bridesmaids dresses?

I took my MOHs dress shopping last weekend, and we narrowed our selection down to 2 very similar dresses. I have finally decided on one dress, and am eager to send an email to my other bridesmaids showing them. I have no idea if i should ask everyone to purchase the dress at the store where we found them, or if it's okay if they order online. The store does offer a discount if we buy all of the dresses there, but I have found some prices online that are much cheaper. I have heard that in ordering dresses online, they may not be cut from the same peice of fabric, so its hard to ensure that all dresses end up the same color. In fact, some websites have color options that look very different than the options on the barijay (dressmaker's) website. If ordering online is okay, which websites have others tried, and can vouch for? I have found the dress on storeofdress.com dresstimes.com topbridaldresses.com and bestdressprice.com (bari jay #760 for those curious) Any opinions would be appreciated, thanks!

  • my bridesmaids got them from Netbride.com  Pearl's Place is also popular and both are fully repuatable.

  • I used Pearl's Place and they were great - I ordered all the girls dresses at once so that I could ensure they were from the same color lot - Pearl's Place is an actual store in Louisiana and so this is no different than them ordering from a boutique locally except it was much cheaper and we didn't have to pay tax since we were out of state.

  • It's definitely ok for them to buy them online! Half of my BM used various websites to get their Alfred Angelo dresses and they all are beautiful and look identical. I can't remember the exact sites!! Sorry! Bridal shops sometimes will tell you that the coloring will be different if you buy the dresses from different sources, but at least in my case, that did not happen. Conversely, I was a BM in a wedding in June where the bride had us all buy dresses from the same shop in her home town and a lot of the dresses ended up looking discolored.
  • I ordered Maggie Sottero Cassandra from bestdressprice. It appears to be a very reliable website for purchasing a wedding dress. What is so great about this website is that it is very simple to find what you are looking for. It has Bride dresses, flower girl, etc which make it very easy instead of searching many websites for what you are looking for. The only thing I would say that is negative about it, it is a little difficult to really find a certain style of dress.
