Dress opinions please

I have 2 dresses in my bio under gallery.  Price difference between them is huge, but I love both and can't decide which one I want.  Please give me your opinions.  Also, the first one (the fitted one) is pictured in an eggshell color, but I will be getting it in white if I choose it.  Thanks!http://tinyurl.com/m4q5ux

  • The Watters dress hands down! I love that dress! That would have been my dress if I had known it existed earlier than 3 months from my wedding!
  • I love the 1st one!
  • Love # 1 best on you.And you have the shape to pull it off.

  • I like dress 2 personally
  • I think the mermaid dress flatters you well. The bigger dress is pretty on you, but if I had a nice figure like yours I'd want to rock a more form-fitting dress to show it off :P Plus it's a bit plain (although then you'd be able to wear some flashier jewelry). But I think I would like the lace/appliques a lot more if they covered the whole dress. I don't really like the way that it just stops in the belly portion of the dress. It looks incomplete to me, like the dressmaker just got lazy halfway through. My opinion? Keep looking for something else in that mermaid shape that's got better detailing.

  • mbc...thanks for ur honesty!  I'm actually not too crazy about lace, so I like the fact that this isn't completely covered and has the belly and back part just plain satin.  The other dress, I agree it is very clean and plain looking which I also like because I can do it up with jewelry.  I was actually thinking of adding like a thick band (belt sort of) and a flower on the side, similar to the Christos gown below that I love.  http://www.christosbridal.com/gowns/S2010/desiree.shtml
  • I don't have a favorite between the two.  I think you should sleep on it for a week or so, then see which one you think about more often.  Or keep shopping.
  • Number 1 all the way, its so damn cool!

  • LOVE the 1st dress!!
  • If dress one was completely covered in flowers it would be amazing.  It looks like they ran out of them and had to use plan B.  JMO
  • 1st dress, hands down!

  • Oh this one is hard, they are very different.  And you look beautiful in both.  I guess my first reaction is that I prefer #2, it shows off your tiny waist, I love the bodice and the sweetheart neckline.
  • I prefer 2 but think you look beautiful in both!
  • #1, it is more unique, in a very good way!  It even makes you look longer.
  • thank you all for your wonderful comments!  :)
  • I love #1!! I tried it on myself and it has been a contender.  I also like the way the lace isn't all over.  It's super flattering and the fit is great.  The only thing that I didn't like was that the sales girl kept telling me how popular it was and how many she'd sold in just the last 3 weeks since thier sample came in.  It's no biggie though.  But it is a budget buster so I just had to let it go! :)
  • I say #1 for sure...its so different and unique. Definitely memorable. So which one is the more expensive one!
  • roxy FINALLY someone asked which one is more expensive! loll....I guess it's a good thing you can't tell which is more expensive.  Dress 1 is about 4 times more expensive than dress 2!
  • Lindze...what was/is your dress budget?  If u don't mind me asking :)
  • I think number 2 looks much better on you.

  • Both dresses are very pretty. I love all the detail on dress 1, but I have to say if you order it in white the details may not be as noticeable... just something to think about.
  • OMG I love number 1! Totally unique and beautiful! If that is the one that is more expensive it is definitely worth the difference in price.
  • This is SO tough...you look incredible in both!!! I didn't get to try on the Watters gown, but it was on my list of the gowns that I loved when I went shopping! I really like that the lace isn't covering the whole gown because then it would be just like any other lace gown. I think that the breaking of the lacey detail makes it sleek and elegant. On the other hand, I love the way that you look in the second dress as well. It is more princessy and you really look like a perfect bride. I can definitely see why you are having trouble deciding! If I had to pick (if it were me), I would probably choose the first gown :)
  • Oh... I wanted to add that I think the color in eggshell is stunning and that pure white may make the gown look more cheap and not as rich in the details. Just something to think about :)
  • Another thought for you, though I'm sure you've considered it: if you really like them equally it's great - I'd go with the cheaper gown and spend the money on something else you really want. Even if money isn't an issue here, the extra cash is always good to have, all things being equal. Again, you look truly lovely in both!
  • The fitted Watters dress hands down

  • preppy and a2....I found pics of the dress on a model in whitehttp://pics.boards.weddingbee.com/37345.watters2.jpg http://pics.boards.weddingbee.com/37603.backofdress1.jpgMy concern is how the dress makes those stretch lines on the satin part...I dont want people to think that my dress is so tight that its pulling.  Lacebride.....that is a good point.  And since the second dress is so much cheaper, I can splurge a little more on the jewelry and accessories, and even add a few extra touches to the dress.  It is definitely something to think about.
  • I like the fitted style but I am not a fan of the lace on it. I normally love lacey stuff in that style I just think it really highlights the belly by not having anything on it. I also love the romance of the 2nd dress. I would sleep on it for a little while and possibly keep looking. You might be able to find something you love more then these two or you might find something similar that isn't a budget buster!
