Is this too short?

I'm buying a used dress. The previous bride is 5'3" and wore 3" heels. So, she says the dress is altered to 5'6". I am 5'6-3/4"; I plan on wearing flats. I'm just concerned the 3/4" might be too much? My mother says it is way to much, and my fiance says it probably won't be noticeable.I called a seamstress and they said they wouldn't be able to know if they can lengthen it until they can actually see the dress. Does any one know if that small amount will even matter? Or is this a disaster waiting to happen?

the dress most likely won't go to the ground and you'll see your shoes. If you're ok with that, then you'll be fine.

I think you'd have to try it on to know it could hit you higher, or lower depending on your body.

Wearing a 3" heel does not necessarily add 3" to the length. I wouldn't chance it. In all likelihood, it will be too short.

Wear a longer decorative crinoline (Depending on the bottom detail) and you can show off the lace, if needed.

I would try on the dress with the shoes you are planning to wear and then make a decision once you see a seamstress

if it is too short and is a ball gown, you can remove a layer of fluff out from underneath and it will add length.

if the previous bride can tell you how large the botton hem is, a good seamstress should be able to at least have an idea of whether or not it can be let out. the dress might be short, but maybe there are a couple extra inches of fabric in the hem that could be let out. GL!
