Question

Did any of you guys have a problem finding sample dresses that fit? My problem is getting them to fit in the chest area did any of you have this problem if so did you go for a specific designer or did you just trust that you would look good in the dress when they altered it and it was in your size after you ordered it? Thanks, Lindsay

Every sample I tried on was the wrong size (usually 2-3 sizes too big), but the stylist was always really good at pulling it at the back so I could see the front, and then pulling it at the front so I could see the back.  The dress I ended up with was 2 sizes too big when I tried it on, but ordered in the correct size.  I think you should be fine as long as you trust the way your stylist adjusts the sample on you.

A lot of samples in the first salon I visited were too small on me. I asked my local board to recommend a place with bigger samples, and they were able to suggest several. I bought my dress from one of them. So ask your local board.

at a couple places i went, most of the dresses were way too huge. i'm a wedding dress size 6, street size 4, and most of the samples were size 12. they did the best they could to do what PP said, to pull it in the back and in the front, but i couldn't really get the full effect of the dresses, and the dress i'm buying isn't from either of those stores. i think if i could have actually seen what some of those dresses had looked like in my size, or even close to my size, i'd be buying a different dress. i would definitely try and ask your local board about where you can try on dresses with more size options, or try places like Alfred Angelo who has a lot of dresses in each size. HTH and good luck!
