Big Bow

My wedding dress has a large bow under the butt. When I bought the dress I was under the impression it could be removed but now I am told that if nothing is there the stitching will show. Therefore I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on what could be done with my dress- Thanks! Below is the link for the dress. http://www.groupusa.com/c-product.cfm?icon_image=icon_image_101008041209.jpg&gid=9&cid=2

Re: Big Bow

  • Pretty dressHow much stitching would show under it? Have you seen it? Is it really that noticeable, or are they just telling you this.I would think you wouldn't need to cover it up and they should be able to not add that (although they might charge you a fee, but $100 charge to not put the bow on might be worth it)If it is 6 inches or less, I would recommend just getting a broach, if you look on etsy you will probably find oneLook around at some websites for dresses there are plenty that have little detail right there, I would also see if you could order one of the appliques that is on the waist and use some of that there

  • It's a very pretty dress, and I actually like the bow. If you do remove it, I think a brooch would look great there to cover up the stitching, maybe you could find something that matches the front of the dress.
  • The bow is my favorite part :-/I agree that a brooch would be nice, or just some bead work (though that might be expensive) or you could slap a bit of lace applique on? GL!

  • I kind of like the bow :)  but you have to make it yours.  The brooch would be nice or even a flower or something that makes it unique to you.  pretty dress though!

  • Pretty dress!  I too like the bow, but it is all about how u want to look on your wedding day.  I'm guessing you bought off the rack since that how Group USA was when I was there and you therefore didn't have the option to have it ordered w/o the bow.I thing that some beading/lace applique that matches the kind on the bodice would be my first choice.  A brooch would be pretty too.  Another option would be a cluster of flowers that match the fabric on the dress but not just one pinned on since that will most likely look wierd right under your bum.
  • Love your dress and love the bow.  but I agree if you don't like it, a brooch would look pretty too.
  • I don't think the bow is unsightly or even very obvious. I wouldn't put a brooch there though-- you'd end up having to sit on it, and I can't imagine that being comfortable! Besides, the bow is probably subtler than a sparkly brooch. If anything, go for a flat fabric applique.
