dress debacle!!!!

HELP!!! I need some perspective here...I ordered my dress over Easter and it's still not here! Apparently it was shipped, but arrived damaged, so they sent it back and requested that a new one be made and shipped. It was supposed to have shipped by now, but hasn't! My wedding is 5 weeks from tomorrow. Is it time to freak out yet? Should I start looking for a replacement dress? The problem is that I'm tall, so I'd likely need extra length in most dresses and purchasing "off the rack" may be difficult...any suggestions or comments are appreciated!

It's never a good time to freak out (sometimes it happens, I know).  It usually gets in the way of thoughtful decision making.  Which company is sending your dress?  Maybe someone on here has experience with a rush order.  How long did the bridal shop tell you alterations would take?  You can look for a replacement dress if that would reduce your anxiety...how about preownedweddingdresses.com?  Or someone on here might be selling a wedding dress who is tall.  This wouldn't be an unreasonably long time to wait if you ordered your wedding dress around Easter.  I was told to expect my dress in 6 months.  The bridal shop and the design company have a good reason to get the dress to you on time...they want people to buy dresses from them in the future, and they don't want you coming on the knot telling people never to order from them again.  Not good for business.  My bet is you'll get your dress very soon.

I would just make sure your contract is solid with them so you know you can at least get a full refund, worst case scenario. Just keep bugging them about it like everyday and im sure it will be there just in time.
