What next?

Hello all! As I mentioned before, I am trying to lose 20 some-odd punds before my wedding (October 2010) and I usually go for the A-Line style. I do remember what a few of you have said that I should wait before buying a dress (early spring?) but I was wondering what other styles would look good on a 5'5, 135-45 lb, slightly tanned person? I like what Sophia Tolli does and I don't want anything over-embellished. So please feel free to mention some designers or overall styles! Thanks! Sarah

Re: What next?

  • I think it may depend on more. Do you have large breasts? Are you pear-shaped, do you have a defined waist, or do you carry most of your weight in your mid-section? Do you have a long torso, long legs? I think trying on dresses is the best way you will see what fits the best. Another 5'5 135lb person will probably look completely different in a dress than you. Good luck finding the one :)

  • Seriously, everyone's body is different.  It depends on your shape, your build, whether you're muscular or not in shape, etc.  It's kind of ridiculous to pick out a dress for you without ever having seen you.  If you go for A-lines generally, there's probably a reason--because you look good in them and it's what you're comfortable in.  Don't try to force something you're not crazy about!Re: Sophia Tolli.  I find that Jim Hjelm and Pronovias have kind of a similar vibe.  I'd check them out, too.
