Re: Which Dress?! $100 vs. $1000

  •  Wow , my vote is def the Casablanca . It is breathtaking .
  • Personally I love the first one. I think it's the prettier of the two.
  • I Love the first dress. It looks really great on you. If I didnt know the prices I would still love the first one more. $100 bucks - woohoo what a BARGAIN, its stunning!  - spend the money you saved on a great photographer or on your honeymoon!
  • I didn't see your phots...but think about which one you LOVE.

  • I love the $100 dress.  Personally, I think the $1,000 dress is a little gaudy for my taste, but it's really which one YOU prefer!I would choose the $100 dress if it were up to me.  Good luck!

  • That dress is $100??!! I think it is beautiful. I like it better than the 2nd one.
  • I cant belive its only 100 bucks! Get it!! I love it! Love the sparkle!! I wish the one I got was only 100 bucks LOL
  • I like the Casablanca. The fabric and the cut look better than the $100 one. But you should go with your heart.
  • The 100.00 one is beautiful. you want to look beautiful your way on your wedding day, most people add a little something to thier dress so why not save money doing it. So a pretty sash, Davids bridal sells the big ones for $30.00 plus a pretty broach will make it your own or having your seamstress tweak the train will be awesome. And yeah I spent ALOT on my dress and it's just sitting there wore it once, and could have saved money going with something simpler, by the way your dress does NOT look cheap even though it was inexpensive. Good luck & congrats.
  • You look amazing in the $100 dress! The casablanca is beautiful, but I agree...not 10x more beautiful. If it were me, I'd go with the $100 option. However... If the Casablanca is what you really want, you should shop around for it. You can probably find it for half that at the sites mentioned in pp's or at the Trash to Treasure board. And since you have a year to go, you can be patient while you try to find it. Good luck!!
  • I know that you have already received a lot of advice, but I thought that I would still give my thoughts just in case. I think that both dresses are really pretty, so whichever you pick will not be a bad choice. I agree with a lot of the other girls who were saying that the 2nd dress is gorgeous, but I am not sure if it is an extra $900 better. I am sure you have probably done a lot of research and tried to find the 2nd one for cheaper, but I know from experience it is not the easiest thing to do. I think that you have a couple of options: you can either keep looking and see if you find something else you like even better or you could even try going to another store and showing them pictures of the 2nd one and see if they have anything cheaper but similar to the 2nd dress. I spent almost $3000 on my dress and I actually got it for a major discount because it was from a trunk show. I am now really regretting that because I could so use the money to put towards other aspects of my wedding. The dress is beautiful, but I would much rather have kept looking and found one for cheaper. if you like the $100 one as much as the $1000 go with the cheaper one and then turn it into your own amazing gown. I think that adding your own touches is a really cool idea and will definitely make a cool statement at your wedding. its something that I sort of wish I would have thought about before buying my dress.Good luck though, the girls are right follow your heart! Sorry for the long post!
  • I'm not gonna lie.  I think the $1000 one looks much more elegant and expensive.  Very tailored looked and you'll feel like a million bucks in it.  I do think the $100 dress is great for the money, but it looks cheaper to me.  I guess it depends on how it feels on you?I mean saving money is great and all... So I understand... Go with your gut... And honestly, $1000 isn't bad for a dress either.  But that $900 could buy all of your flowers...

  • I'm not one to encourage spending more on certain items... BUT that $1,000 is amazing... I am also biased because I'm a Casablanca 1827 bride :)Best of luck!!
  • im sorry but the $100.00 does not look ok in my opinion. its does not look like it fits or sits right on you. it seems to lack alot of structure in the front. i think you need to consider the $1000 option. that being said $100 is a great bargin and you said price is the biggest factor.
