Pearl's Place? Anyone actually BEEN there?

I called Pearl's Place and was given prices for specific gowns.  However, the woman on the phone stated "this is the "no service" price".  I asked what that meant, she said that if you come in and try gowns on the price may be higher.  Has anyone been there?  How does it work that the price is higher? TIA for any insight you may have!!

  • If you went to the store to try on the gowns it is more work for them. They need to have staff to assist you, pay the bills, have the samples, etc. Without you coming to them, they can offer you a lower price since they're doing much less work and simply just making the order for you.
  • You are better of NOT going to the store.I called to get a quote and when they asked where I was from I told them I was local and they wanted me to come in the store. Of course if I did I would have to pay the full price tag and get charged more money for a dress I could have gotten cheaper just by phoning in the order. Their alterations are a nightmare too.

  • I went there and bought my dress there. I would imagine that they add an upcharge to the dress if they wait on you and help you for an hour or so. Since they dont have to do this with phone orders, no upcharge. Doesnt bother me though. Its a business. i went there to get service and my consultant actually picked out the dress I bought. So to me, this is worth it. They were very helpful and really nice.
  • They work the same as RK bridal.I got my gown at the actual store. They price those gowns normally. When you call, and get it just shipped, is when they discount them.
  • Thanks for all the replies, ladies!  I will go and try on gowns and then order them Pearls or RK Bridal.  I'm set with the alterations, thankfully, as my grandmother is a seamstress.  Thanks again!!
  • I tried on gowns at local bridal shops and called Pearl's Place to order. I could not have been happier with my experience with them... or the fact that their price was $750 cheaper than any other price I was given!!! Also, I received my dress TWO MONTHS earlier than promised. It's perfect. They were great :)
  • I ordered my gown and received it locally at Pearls. The price was very fair and I disagree the alterations were free and perfect. My maids have not complained one bit. The prices were less in the first place then some other stores also. If you call and order on the web, of course they are less as you are not getting any in store service. This is the same with any of the online stores that have real stores and online sites. You get your choice as to how you want to do it. If you take their time you cannot get that lower price, I do not fault them for that.
