Are You Wearing This Dress?

Hi All-Are any of you wearing the Pronovias Huesca, Rania, or Recife? Those are my top three left, but I've only been able to try on the Recife so far (love it, BTW). I called every salon north of Bakersfield, CA, and all the way to the Bay, and nobody has a sample of the Huesca. I live in Sacramento, so driving all the way to SoCal doesn't sound too fun. I also haven't found the Rania, but I'm still on the hunt...If you have pics of yourselves in the dresses I'd love to see them, or feedback of how you looked when you tried them. Surprises, good or bad, pros, cons...Any feedback would be awesome! Sorry I didn't post links, but Pronovias' website shows their dresses in a pop-up window, and I don't think it has an address bar to link to... Google Images has them, though. You guys are the best!

Re: Are You Wearing This Dress?

  • I tried on Huesca.  It was beautiful but I'm pretty short and the neckline was VERY overwhelming on me.  Like...it came up and almost over my ears.  Too much for me.  The body was a beautify fit though!  Good luck!  I ended up with Pronovias Honduras from the '09 collection.
  • I tried on the Huesca too, but for some reason I don't have any pictures of it. I have pictures of most of the other dresses I tried on but didn't buy, just not that one, I don't know why, maybe it's on my mom's camera or something ... anyway I didn't care for the halter with the ruffles but I thought the rest of the dress was really pretty. I ended up buying one of the Manuel Mota gowns instead (Silencio from the 2009 collection).I did a google image search for each of your gowns and came up with a few pictures of real brides wearing them, mostly from the various pre-owned dress sites. So you could try that if you want to see what it looks like not on the model. good luck :)

  • thanks ladies! one of the things i'm worried about is the collar being overwhelming, so i'm glad you brought that up. i'm average height, 5'5", but i was trying to picture how that collar would hit me... i don't want it coming up too high and hitting my earrings or anything. and thanks for the ideas about the preowned sites! i usually only look at the first couple pages of the Google images which are usually mostly the manufacturer pics. i'll try looking at those sites, and maybe find a smokin' deal! Thanks again!
  • I tried on Rania.  It was a pretty dress, but on me, it felt very stiff and I remember saying "I feel like I'm wearing a Mother of the Bride dress." It's not really youthful or fun.I ended up with Pronovias Ronda.  I didn't try on Huesca, but my dress has a similar sweetheart neckline with illusion v-neck thing over it (PIB) and I love it.  I love that I don't have to worry about boob fat or popping out of my dress because it's v-neck, but since it's sheer it's still sexy and pretty.

  • ahhhh, the boob fat! i hate that. that's actually why i'm going with either a halter or v-neck of some kind. i get that strange pudge by my armpit (i think one poster dubbed it "armpit spillage") when i wear a regular strapless. i actually worried about the Rania feeling stiff, in the pics it looks almost like it would make a crackling sound when you move...  thanks for the heads up. i've actually been considering ordering sight unseen if i can't find a sample anywhere, and that is something i would have never known about that dress. disaster averted!
