Chiffon and Taffeta fabric for Hawaii beach wedding?

So my bridesmaids are picking there own dresses. At first my only stipulation was that it be the color blue that I wanted, I gave them swatches of the wedding colors so that they had the colors. I've been reading online that I should also pick 1-2 fabrics for them to choose from so that it looks a little more uniform then chaotic. I love that idea but not to sure what fabrics will work, other then chiffon. My wedding will be in Hawaii on the beach in September, so it will be warm-hot. I'm set on chiffon fabric, I'm 100% sure my MOH will pick this fabric anyway, I know that one of my bridesmaids wants a short fitted dress chiffon fabric won't work for that. So, I was thinking taffeta because it's light and I'm sure comes in a fitted dress. My question is this: is there another fabric that would be better to use other then taffeta for a short fitted dress?

I would stick with chiffon or maybe even cotton if it's a more informal affair.  Satin and taffeta are HOT in the summer.  I was the MOH in my BF's wedding and she chose a taffeta dress.  She got married in June outside and the temps were in the high 90's and low 100's in NC, granted the humidity is higher here.  We all had sweat pouring from our faces during the ceremony.  Luckily, I thought to bring another dress with me so I changed afterward.  Save your girls from being miserable and stick with a light fabric like chiffon.
