how to compromise on length of hem given different shoes

I tried to use the search box but couldn't find this.  Basically, I would like my full length dress to look good with heels or barefoot on the beach. What is the best way to compromise with the length? I would be happy with a small heel, but I am only finding high heels in the colors I like (orange, turquoise, hot pink).  Has anyone found a creative solution? Thanks!

The beach is somewhat forgiving of dress length.  I had my gown hemmed for three inch heels but took bridal portraits barefoot on the beach -- and most of the bridals came out swell, the length of my gown wasn't a factor in the majority of poses anyway.  Between your seamstress who will know just what to do when altering your gown, and your photographer who will help make sure everything looks good, you'll be fine!

Im wondering this same thing. We are getting married on the beach and I dont want to wear shoes, but I need shoes after. Thanks for posting this!!
