We are having just a small wedding in the church I grew up in, lots of family and friends, but the wedding party is only Bride/Groom, father to walk me down the Aisle, and Matron of honor and best man. My fiancé is a jeans and sweatshirt kind of guy so suits and tux were out of the question (and budget to be honest) our colors are light pink and navy blue. We were thinking dark blue button up dress shirts, lighter color ties, (pink rose and baby’s breath boutonnieres) and tan khakis. Well my aunt made a comment calling it tacky and that he would look like a best buy sales clerk.... Just having him agree to wear something other than blue jeans is a big step! So here’s my new ideas..
Dark Gray/Lighter Black dress pants with the navy shirts and lighter color blue tie..
Stick with my original idea but have her judge my wedding and make comments all night…
Or finally..
Go with the first option but try to find a matching vest with the pants for a more “formal look”.
Opinions???
Re: Opinions on Groom and Best Man attire.
First I would ignore your aunt and if she makes remarks on your wedding day, she will look like the a$$, not you.
Second I think you should just do a simple dark pant with a white button down and maybe a navy tie. If he's not wearing a jacket forgo the bout.
Good luck, keep it simple and he will be fine!
