Changed my mind on a David's Bridal BM dress, can I cancel my order?

Hi ladies!  Ordered and paid for 2 David's Bridal bridesmaid dresses on Saturday, didn't love them, and of course Murphy's Law kicked in and I found better (and MUCH cheaper) dresses today.  I called to see if I could cancel my order, but the lady said the order was already placed and I was stuck with them.  I'm thinking of calling back and being more stern about it, any advice?  They were full price, not sale or clearance dresses, I don't understand why I can't cancel the order, especially if they won't even be delivered until May.  I'm not good at being stern at all, I should toughen up :)

Thanks for your help!

  • All sales are final and you (should have) signed the recipt stating that you agreed that all sales are final. You can try arguing but don't be surprised if you don't get anywhere, policies are put into place for a reason.
  • Oh yes, I understand about the "all sales final" on the receipt that I signed, I was told that was so people wouldn't wear the dress, keep the tags on, then return the dress as new.  I see that they probably try to have that cover all sales in general.  Technically a sale is not complete until it has been received by the customer (at least in the accounting world) and I'm hoping they understand that consideration.  Thank you for your input, I know exactly what you're talking about and hope to overcome that policy.  It's worth a shot.
  • I had a friend return her wedding dress from there. They gave her full credit towards a new one because her MIL rushed her into picking something. She went back to the same store the next day and they remembered her and her awful MIL so it wasn't an issue.
  • I had a good experience with DB's return policy.  I acknowledged the no return policy and signed it, but the shoes were defective and they happily accepted them back for a store credit.

Bottom line, it cannot ever hurt to ask.  Just remember to be nice about it.  :o)  Good luck.

I called DB again, talked to a different customer service rep, she was extremely nice and processed the cancellation on the dresses and issued a refund.  Turned out it was very easy, and I really appreciated the service.  From what I have seen in other posts it sounds like it depends on who you talk to at DB, some give great service, others are more difficult,  Glad I got lucky!
