I'm having a hard time visualizing my fathers attire. I know that often his hanky/tie would match the MOB, however they are not married and he is not remarried. Groomsmen are in Black tux, black vest, purple tie, purple hankie (matches the bridesmaids), FI is in Black tux, ivory vest, ivory tie, ivory hankie. But I don't know what to put my father in... He will be in black tux, but wasn't sure what vest/tie/hankie configuration to put him in. Part of it is that I can't visualize it for some reason part of it is not knowing what is common practice. Thanks in advance.
Re: Help - Father of the Bride attire
We are putting both the FOB and FOG in tuxes to match the GM, since we picked tuxes before MOB and MOG picked out their outfits. The only person in our WP who has a different vest/tie color is the groom. IDK if that's right, but that's what we did.
It really doesn't matter what the parents wear, as long as it's the same level of formality as everyone else. They're not techanclly part of the WP (unless one is a BM or GM), so they don't HAVE to match. With that being said, my mom is doing her dress in one of the wedding colors, and she and my FI's mom have been coordinating their outfits, but that's all them. She wanted to match what we were doing, so we worked out something that she'll look good in and like. ^_^
