discount websites

I have, unfortunately, fallen in love with a designer gown that is out of my price range! I found a website that has my gown at a MUCH cheaper price than the bridal shops in my area.  I was wondering if anyone else has ordered their dress off the internet discount site.  I'm kinda nervous about it and wondering why their prices are so much cheaper than anywhere else!  The website is: www.dresstimes.com.

They are selling knockoff dresses, not authentic ones. It's impossible to tell what you'll actually receive since they advertise using pictures of the actual designer gown and not their own work, and because they don't tell you that the quality of the materials is low. They list most of their Anne Barge dresses around $300. You can't even buy the silk needed to make those dresses for $300. If you're willing to risk spending the money, and accept that what you get might be totally unwearable, go for it.

If not, there are other options to get the dress you want. You can buy new from a legitimate wholesaler, like Pearl's Place, netbride, Jay's Bridal, or RK Bridal.

You can buy new/used from another bride at bravobride.com, preownedweddingdresses.com, thegreenhangershop.com, or our wedding classifieds board.

Or you can look for a sample of a designer gown from bridepower.com. They even have a gown locator service which will look for, purchase, and sell to you a designer sample that's not currently in stock. I can vouch for their customer service as I got my dress at their brick-and-mortar store in MA.

Bec, I don't see any obvious red flags, but it can be hard to tell. I would contact the designer of the dress you want and ask if perfectbridal is an authorized dealer.
