The veil

How did you choose to wear your veil on your wedding day?

I think there is something romantic about wearing the veil over your face and your husband-to-be having to lift it to kiss his bride. I just don't see many people doing that much anymore.

What are your thoughts?

Re: The veil

  • I had a single tiered veil I wore pinned in the back of my head.  Not over my face.  I guess I'm just a real big fan of the blusher, I wanted everyone to be able to see me fully and I wanted to be able to see everyone else fully as I walked down the aisle.

I've never actually been to a wedding where a bride wore a blusher.  But if you want to, go for it.

  • I've been to 10 weddings in the last 2 years and not 1 bride wore a blusher. My MUA says blushers are horrible for makeup because they stick to you face and can cause streaks.

  • I had a fingertip veil that I wore for the ceremony and pics and removed for the reception. I didn't have a blusher. I just thought it would annoy me being in my face like that and did not want it covering my face during the whole ceremony. Honestly I don't think I've been to a wedding where the bride wore one, but that doesn't mean you can't. If you have your heart set on it, go for it!

  • I am wearing a blusher, looks like I need to ask my make-up artist about any concerns with it. I never planned on it until I tried it on with my gown and I just loved the look. It is very traditional but it works with my gown, personality and the chapel we are getting married in. I couldn't be happier. Definitely try all options on with your gown to see. My veil is a drop veil not a two tiered and I prefer the drop since it is not puffy on your head. GL!
