Changing for send-off

I am planning on changing into a going away dress before leaving the reception.  I've seen other posts about pros and cons of a going away dress, and since we're embarking straight on our honeymoon with a 5 hour drive I decided that was best for me.  I haven't seen much about the practical how/when of changing though.  We're having a simple luncheon reception, no dancing or anything.  Do I sneak out with a BM or someone to help get me out of the dress while people finish up the cake and then just reappear?  Thoughts/strategies?  I don't think it's that big of a deal but wanted to make sure there's no etiquette for this I am unaware of.

Re: Changing for send-off

  • Perhaps changing after the send-off, but before the big drive would be a better strategy.  Not sure if it's close to home or anyone else's home, but could you change at your house or a friend or family member's house?

I would personally stay in the dress as long as the guests see you. Change once you have left the guests/wedding. But its your wedding! Do whats best for you!
