corset back?

I found my wedding dress (yay!), and, although I like the zipper/button look better, was thinking of getting a corset put in (to ensure I get a great fit the day of, regardless of whether or not a drop or gain a pound or two).  I'm just not sure if the dress would look as good with the corset in, so was looking for some opinions.

Here's the dress:  http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Wedding-Gown-with-Lace-Appliques-and-Ruffled-Skirt-SWG560

Thoughts?

Re: corset back?

  • Although I love the corset. But with this dress I think that the buttons on the back are beautiful and it would take away from that by getting the corset

  • I think the gown would look lovely with a corset. The benefits of a corset back far outweigh a the negatives. You get a fabulous fit, you waist looks tiny, and you don't have to starve yourself in the days leading up to the wedding to make sure your dress zips. Its a win-win in my opinion.

  • I think that you would still need a zipper up to the base of the tailbone; a corset that goes that low might look strange.

  • I personally am not a fan of corset backs, but that is just me. I like the buttons...
  • i really prefer the back as it is now too...guess i'm just worried about it being fitted enough.
  • mine has a zipper back and it also has an internal elastic type cincher, it doesn't go up like a lace up back though, which ive considered adding to mine but my gown is more drop waist so it wouldn't be as low
