dress dilemma

So

the first day I tried on dresses...I fell in love with a dress from David's....except the big dumb bow. On it which is easily removable. I told myself to try a few more dresses before

comitting.....so my sister took me to an expensive bridal store where I fell in love even more but couldnt afford the 1350 pricetag....then I realized....its the EXACT SAME DRESS AS DAVIDS....minus the dumb bow, with an applique in place of the bow and a more blingy beading under the bust...

So my solution to this is to remvoe the bow from the Davids dress and replace it with an applique and replace the beading under the bust with a more blingy applique or something. The beading that's there is easily removed....I know ur not supposed to alter a dress this way....if u do, then its not "the one".....but I'm justifying this by saying I know that no one else in the world will have this dress.....

Opinions? Advice? Anything!!!! Tell me if I'm wrong or if I should make the minor changes to make it my absolute dream?

  • Sounds easy to mess up with all the changes. Keep looking. Try bridesire.com or another discount bridal site. Give yourself plenty of time to order, just in case. Factor in any seamstress work.
  • You'll be paying for alterations and you are counting on finding an appliques that you love just as much as the ones you saw. I'd give yourself some time to look at more dresses. If you post a picture of the dress you love you can probably get some good suggestions here.

Ur right....the original plan was to remove the bow which was no big deal at all....there's a few.more stores I'm going to try.this week.....im just so impatient and hate to shop......my prom dress was hideous just because I was ready to leave the store.....don't want to make that mistake twice. There was another dress I really liked....very beautiful and classic....but not a dress that belongs in a Vegas wedding
  • Now....how/where do I .post pics lol
