Are David's Bridal BM Dresses good or bad?

I really like David's Bridal BM dresses because I like that I can pick one color and let my BMs choose the dress they like and the prices are good HOWEVER I have heard from a lot of people in the area that David Bridal's dresses are horrible. More specifically, that they find ways to get extra money out of you and they do a really bad job sizing/fitting the dresses.

Again, these are just rumors so I was trying to get a poll of what people thought of the dresses and the company.

 A lot of the bad things people have to say about DB are related to the customer service, than the actual dresses themselves.  Yes, I've also heard they size larger to get higher alterations fees.  But, you DO need to order by whatever the largest measurement is, and sometimes that can cause a major difference in sizing, and therefore a lot of alterations. 

If the reviews you've heard scare you a bit, I suggest checking out some other lines (eg- Alfred Angelo) that have the same idea and price range, minus the customer service issues.  And definitely have the dresses altered by a local seamstress, bc they DB does charge an exorbitant amount for their alterations.

My MOH loves her dress. She hasn't brought it in for sizing but you don't have to go to DB's if you don't want to...

For my sisters wedding she bought her dress and I got my BM dress from Davids and they were just fine. We ended up getting them altered elsewhere though because the customer service we received in the store was pretty crappy and we decided that they did not need any more of our business.

Seems like David's is kind of a gamble. Some locations are great, some are terrible. See if you can find somebody who has used the one in your area and find out how their experience was. I agree that maybe you should check out an Alfred Angelo. I've heard less complaints about them in general.

My BM got their dresses at DB and we had no problems.  They went in and tried on the actual dress that we were getting and we just ordered it in a different color.  there is no reason that you shouldn't be able to find the correct size, they usually have a good selection of sized just in a variety of colors.  Try them on until you find the correct size and order the correct color, that eliminates the problem of them ordering the wrong size.   My BM didn't need any alterations.

I have to say that I though the dresses were good quality.  I have also used them for other events and loved their dresses.

All my BM dresses are from David's Bridal.  I love them and they look great!  I also bought my wedding dress from there too!  Alterations can be a little high, but nothing too bad.  If you can't find the right color in the dress you really like, you can order it from them and they will deliver it to the store.  Unfortunately they require that you pay upfront if you are ordering and you have to pay it full.  But they have your dress there, you can apply for a credit card and have 12 months to pay it off, which worked perfectly for me.
