I've been a plus size girl my whole life and have never been able to find clothes that fit, I didn't expect wedding dress shopping to be any different... and it's certainly not. In addition to being a plus size woman, I have a very large chest size. I can't fathom the lengths I would have to go through to find undergarments and the like for a strapless dress. This will require sleeves of some sort. I am very partial to the vintage 1950's or 1960's look (I know I want a tea length or ankle length dress), but am having a very difficult time finding any boutiques that carry them. I have scoured dolly couture and unique vintage. Does anyone know where else I can look?

If you are ever in the DC area, I highly recommend two salons that cater to the plus size bride. Both offer a great selection of dresses that you can actually try on and they fit! Also, both make you feel special and come highly recommended by brides. It may be worth a trip for you.

I hope you find your dress soon!
I love the gown I posted below, its a little more modern, but you can definitely accessorize it to give it more of a 50's feel...
