Tuxes

I am at a loss for how to do this. We are going to look at tuxes with all the guys the 28th of this month. A few questions I have:
1. Do their vests need to match my colors or the color of the BM dresses or can they be some other color.

2. Does my dad need to match the guys or can he do his own thing?

Sorry I know this has probably been asked before but I couldn't find it :( Thanks ladies!

First Dad does not need to match at all.

Second, totally up to you on whether to match your girls or not. If you have two colors you want to incorporate maybe do the girls in one color and you guys in another. And ask you FI what he would like, he'll be wearing it.

  • Our guys will be in classic black tuxes with a bowtie. FI will be in an ivory dinner jacket.

Your guys don't have to match the BMs, but can if you so choose.

[QUOTE]Dad can wear whatever he wants. Vests/ties can match the girls, but it's not necessary. I think it can look a little prom-ish to have everyone matchy-matchy. Our girls wore wine colored dresses. The guys wore black tuxes. GMs had champagne vests/ties and H had an ivory vest/tie.

We just went yesterday, and they will help you out with suggestions. My fiance is wearing a black tux with ivory vest and tie. Also, I didnt want the GMs to be so matchy with the BMs dresses, so, we are doing black tuxes with black vests, but dark blue ties that coordinate, not match, with the blue dresses. The fathers and ushers are doing black tuxes, black ties, and black vests. And the RB is matching my fiance with ivory vest and tie.
  • 1.) They do not HAVE to match. Just make sure that the colours look nice together for your photos. Don't be afraid to have some confidence and choose the colours that you like best- it is your wedding and there are lots of opinions about colours but yours is the one that matters. (And your fiance, too. ) :)
2.) This one is up to you and your Dad. It is okay either way. If you are renting suits for your groomsmen that you and your dad may want to get him in on that and wear one that matches as well. Maybe you want him to be distinguished from the groomsmen- maybe just a little bit different (different colour vest, different colour bout) or maybe an entirely different look altogether. Just have him match the guys in terms of formality.
