PLEASE HELP

Hi Everyone!

I need some advice. I bought a dress that cost around $4,000 and at first loved it. Now I really don't think it fits my personality or my style. I love the dress, but it's not for me. My mom and grandma were there and kinda forced me into purchasing it. Obviously they don't do returns so what should I do?? I want to feel comfortable and wear a dress that fits my personality on my wedding day but my mom was so kind to buy me such a beautiful dress. I don't know what to do, but I know that if I wear that dress, I will feel weird and not happy. PLEASE HELP!!  The Knot: Please chime in if you have advice.

Thanks so much,
Snowden

Re: PLEASE HELP

  • What about it do you not like now? How long has it been since you tried it on?

Can you afford to get another one?

  • If your mom bought the dress then you should talk to her before you get another one. Depending on your budget you could get a second dress to wear to the reception, but don't expect your family to buy you a second dress. If it was me I'd be grateful and wear the dress anyway.

The dress I bought wasn't what I initially thought I wanted. It grew on me and in the end it was the one all the others were compared to. You may want to try on the dress again before you cut it out completely.
