comfy bridal shoes?

Does anyone have any suggestions on comfortable bridal shoes?  I need something with a low heel (2" is about my limit) with good support due to a chronic foot injury.  Ballet flats are out, and my fiance is threatening me with bridal sneakers!

Re: comfy bridal shoes?

  • I love Cole Haans with Nike Air technology but they are pricy...

  • I got a pair of Vera Wangs at Nordstrom Rack for a great price. They are pretty comfy
  • I second the Cole Haans - they usually come in heels with less than 3", and are ridiculously comfortable.  If you're worried about price, just wait for a pair to go on sale (or check out Nordstrom rack, like PP said, or DSW).  You have plenty of time!

You can also find a less expensive shoe that you really like (if you want something more detailed, since Cole Haan bridal shoes are usually pretty simple) and get inserts to put in them for support.  Just make sure they're closed in (no open-back or d'orsay shoes, but peep toes would probably be fine) and have a little room for the insert.
  • By "bridal," do you mean a white satin shoe?  If you're open to a metallic, Aerosoles and Naturalizer are good comfort lines and you should be able to find something there.  I wear Aerosoles for work all day and my feet thank me.  Metallic shoes won't show the dirt as much as a white shoe and might be easier to re-wear!

If you can make do in your wedding shoes for a couple of hours (just before and during the ceremony, pictures, going between ceremony and reception if necessary, and first dance), you can bring a change of shoes and swap out your footwear.  I had both a pair of flip flops and a pair of slip on Skechers sneakers which I wore during the remainder of the day -- I loved my heels, but after the first dance they had to go!

Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • Thanks for all of the input.  I have plantar fasciitis, and it just kills me to stand in any heel for more than an hour.  I had planned to have little satin-look house slippers to wear during the reception, but hadn't figure out what to wear during the ceremony.  IMy dress is ivory, so a metallic wouldn't look horrible.
  • Check out Nina shoes.  They have some low-heel options and are very comfy in my opinion.

  • You could try shoes made for professional dancers/actors.  I was thinking of Capezios; they come in metallics and satins.  They have pretty low heels, there are some cute options in peep toes and sandals, and because they are made to dance 5 shows a week, they are made sturdy and comfortable for people with difficult dancer's feet.  They might not be good for an outdoor wedding, though; I think the soles are mostly made to be indoors-only.
