In need of a veil...I need advice!!

Hello fellow knotties! I hear that the best place to buy a beautiful and affordable veil is online...but where??

I am looking for chapel (maybe cathedral) length, ivory in color, but I want it to be extremely see through and soft, not hard and "poofy" I dont want to look like a snow beast.

Any suggestions??

  • I got mine here and I was very happy with it: http://www.etsy.com/shop/BellaBridalVeils

Though if you know a good seamstress I recommend having it made. That way you can choose the fabric and style you want, and it will be much cheaper than any store or site.

I just did that (I live in Mexico though) and my veil will cost about 70% less that in the stores.

A friend of mine did the same thing.  I don't remember the price, but it was much less than the salons were charging.

  • I thought about having someone make the veil for me, however I cannot seem to find the right fabric. The tulle at the fabric stores seem so rough!

  • I really like Occansey Designs.

If the tulle you're finding at a fabric store is rough, it's probably not a fine enough gauge. The tulle usually used in veils is often called "bridal illusion", and is much softer than the crinoline you'd find under your bridal gown. If you want to feel a sample of bridal illusion, I know that Occansey Designs sends out swatch cards with all of the materials they use.
  • i just ordered mine from Occansey as well.  They have been awesome so far!  They are custom making my veil based on a photo for a really good price.  I emailed with Kathy who was extremely nice and helpful.  It shoudl be done in 2 weeks!  I can't wait!

Oh and I googled and found a 10% off coupon code which was nice!

  • OMG! The Occansey drop veils are absolutely gorgeous!!!! I think I may have found the perfect website for the perfect veil!! However, I plan on wearing a very low chignon with a hair pin along the side of it. Something along these lines..

I was hoping to wear the veil below the bun, but it that too low? What do you think?

  • Dear Broadway17,

Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding. This is an exciting time in your life, and I would love to be of assistance. I am part of a small company called House of Nathenia. If you would like to send me a picture of your dress, I can help customize a beautiful veil for you. I am located on Long Island, and I am able to do business locally or I can do this all based online.

Please email me at HouseofNathenia@gmail.com for further assistance.

    Again, Congratulations on your engagement!
  • If you are looking for a beautiful veil i would suggest David's Bridal.  The prices can be a little high but you pay for what you get.  I would go with style #VCT258long.  You would have to order it over the phone because i don't think it is able to be ordered on line.  It has really soft tule and is thin enough to see through.  I hope this helped!!
