Re: nm

  • Did the girls each get measured, and then pick the size that conformed to their biggest measurement?   If so, then see if you can measure the dresses to see if they match up to the measurements.  If they do, then the bridal shop should be able to help you send them back.

If your girls just gave you sizes, and no measurements were taken or size chart consulted, then you might have to see if a seamstress can let the dresses out.

  • If you ordered from a traditional bridal salon they should have had their measurements taken. If the girls ordered the dress sizes that they were recommended by the salon then the salon is liable because either a.) they measured wrong or b.) the dresses came in the wrong size (which the salon should be able to figure out if you took them in and they were re-measured).

You need to press upon the bridesmaids that do have their dresses that they really need to try them on. Preferably with you present. You guys need time to send them back or order new dresses if they are indeed too small.

    Best of luck!

  • They agreed to be in your wedding. They agreed to wear the dresses you selected and the fact that that one bridesmaid who HAS her dress won't try it on would really peeve me if I were you.

Don't be afraid to push. This is your wedding day and these little details are important.

  • Agree with PPs. They need to try them on so you can make arrangements. If ths store took theie measurements, then the store is responsible for sorting it out.

Good luck (and it's not Bridezilla-ish either, you have to know)!

  • If they're ALL way too small, I'd see if any of the dresses fit any of the girls (keep those) and then see if the shop will work with you on replacing the ones that don't fit anyone.  Everyone could split the cost of the replacements--assuming that no one's dress actually fits them properly.
  • Even if the shop does not acccept returns, they certainly should accept exchanges.  Good luck!
  • This post is of no help to your situation so I apologize. However, I wanted to point out that it is so important for brides and bridesmaids to get professionally measured (which I know you did so that is really unfortunate). I'm with the other readers. If the store is the one that measured the girls, then you did everything you were supposed to. You are in their hands and it is their job now to rectify this situation. You can be treated fairly and get results without being a bridezilla : ) You deserve to have an amazing day with beautiful bridesmaids! Good luck.

(I work at a professional dry cleaner so we deal with these kind of issues. Certain gowns can be altered to fit but it depends on just how off the sizing is. We always suggest speaking to the store though since it is their responsibility)
