Tea Length Wedding Dresses

I went dress shopping and tried on, well lets just say a lot of dresses.  I actually found the shoes I wanted before my dress... I find shoe shopping a lot more fun then dress shopping. I'm having an outdoor wedding late next spring trying to get april 27th or May 4th for my venue.
I fell in love with this short dress. I just worry because it isn't traditional. What do you think? Is it wedding enough for a garden venue?

The dress is lovely, I think it's perfect for a garden venue.  No reason to have to wear a long dress if you like shorter ones. Don't worry about being traditional, you will end up with things you don't like if you try to be like others.
  • That will look so very very cute together. I love a tea length dress for a garden ceremony. The one thing is, when is your wedding? While I think it would be fine any time, you may run into people that feel that if a wedding is past a certain time of day (usually 5 or 6 pm) that you should be in a long dress. A friend of mine wanted a tea length dress and her step-mom talked her out of it using this line of logic (her wedding started at 5). However, I think the dress you love has enough structure and embellishment that it will be lovely and formal enough for any time of day, as long as you're not doing black or white tie.

I also fell in love with my shoes before I got my dress :)

  • Thank you! I feel so much better now =)
  • Love both the choices
  • That is a great dress and it will look perfect for those shoes.  It will be the perfect beginnings for a spring garden wedding!
  • I LOVE that dress and I think the shoes are super cute.  that will be a great combination.
  • A tea length gown for a garden venue?!
    Absolutely stinkin' adorable.
    I LOVE this idea.
I was too chicken to wear a tea length gown, and it wouldn't have really been appropriate for our wedding anyway.. but I LOOOOVE the tea length look. If you are more comfortable, go for it. love love love.
  • I tried on a tea length dress that I loved, and I still think about it now even 7 months later.  I wasn't sure what wedding 'style' we were going for at the time, so I went with a long chiffon dress.  I do like the dress I got, but we're having an outdoor ceremony at the end of June,  very relaxed, fun; and I'm wishing I had a tea lenth!  I even thought about getting one for later on in the reception, but Idoubt it.

And I also have those shoes in black and they're great.  They hurt the toes a bit, but maybe it's because I'm not used to heels anymore.  I think you'll look great!
