For all your wonderful brides getting ready to pick out bridesmaid dresses...please avoid David's Bridal unless you want to get screwed and put yourself through unnessary stress! Here is my story: After buying my dress I began my search for bridesmaid dresses! My bridal consultant asked our colors and suggested a "hot and popular" color which I loved! I chose the color she suggested and a style all my girls like and asked them to buy it! The main reason I chose Davids is because I live in MN and my bridesmaid are in NV, PA, and Wi so needless to say...we couldn't all get together and look and buy dresses together! I got an e-mail 2 weeks ago from 2 bridesmaids saying they had their dresses! Great I thought! The following week one of my other bridesmaid went in for her fitting. She was then told the color I wanted was discontinued and that she couldn't get the dress. No one from Davids called me in advance to say the color was being discontinued and to have my girls get their dresses before a certain date. Instead I got a call from Davids basically saying I was S.O.L. for the color and to pick a different color. I literally called EVERY Davids Bridal in the US to see if they had a one rogue dress left on a rack just in case and nothing. So fine...I change my color. Once the color was changed I called and changed the color of the 2 dresses of the girls who had ordered theirs and sent the other two girls back to Davids only to then find out....the style of the dress I wanted...discontinued in the 2 days I was picking a new color! Why no one mentioned that when I was on the phone with store after store searching for the color I have no idea. In talking to friends who have recently been married...I have found 2 other girls in just my aquaintences have had the same problem with Davids Bridal. So if you are looking for bridesmaid dresses...I would recommend anywhere else! The hassel of finding new colors and new dresses has been a nightmare and the fact that they don't even inform you about the changes until it is too late is unacceptable. And to be honest....only 1 person out of the hundreds I talked to even said "I am sorry". Most were like "Well...this happens all the time...you just have to change what you want". I know it may seem petty...but a little "I am sorry" goes a long way.
Re: Bridesmaid Dress Nightmare!
not appologizing is rediculous, whats up with that, I work in an upscale home furnishings retailer, I say Im sorry 5 times a day, wheter its my or the companies problem or not, when something happens that is not right or your company cant follow thru as the customer would like you say I'm sorry.
I bought my dress from DB, my posse of six all bought their dresses from DB, and even though we were customers of about five different stores (from Richmond, VA to Anchorage, Alaska) every one of my girls had a positive experience.
One of my bridesmaids ordered a dress, then got pregnant and had to change her order, then tragically had a miscarriage and had to change it again and they were totally accomodating.
But as pp mentioned, it's not universal there are tons of brides who receive great service from DB and their dresses are perfect. I just get weary because it's like a 50/50 chance.. you can have an awesome experience or a bad one when choosing to shop there.

The person that helped me was fantastic. and everything went off without a hitch.
I'm sorry your experience was so awful. But, like any other 'discount' chain store, service varies.
