Concord Receptions

Has anyone had or been to a wedding reception at the Courtyard Mariott Grappone Conference Center or the Holiday Inn in Concord, NH?   My fiance and I checked them both out, and I think we know which way we're leaning.  All the same, I thought I'd see if anyone had any experiences (or photos) to share?

Thanks!

We had our proms there way back in the day. From what I remember it was pretty good, but it wasn't for a wedding. The food was okay, but I was a picky teen.

I went to two weddings at the Marriott last year and I thought it was great. The food was delicious and I know both brides enjoyed working with their wedding coordinator (I cannot remember her name, but she's the one you'd meet with anyways). One of the weddings had the ceremony (inside) and reception and the other used all three rooms. I almost went with the Marriott. Their package is nice because it includes everything, but they will work with you to change things around a little (you don't want the limo but want chair covers or plan on doing your flowers seperate, etc).

I can't help with with the Holiday Inn though.

We're having our reception at the Holiday Inn next July. So far they have been great to work with and the prices are really good. Nonni's has pretty good food and the owner is super nice (my sister is friends with his daughter) We also looked at the Marriot but ended up going with the Holiday Inn. Good luck! Let us know what you choose.

skoczera,  I'm also looking in the Concord area for a reception location... I'm thankful you asked this question! :) I have been to a wedding at the Marriott, but only one.

We met with Susan at the Courtyard, and Marlys at Holiday Inn.   We're still debating...
The prices are pretty similar.  We were really hoping that one would be a LOT less than another; our decision would be easier that way!

Susan is willing and able to help with other parts of the wedding (limo, flowers etc) as ninny mentioned, whereas Marlys wasn't able to even give me list of local vendors that I could checkout.

The ceilings at the Courtyard are substantially higher, and they have a patio right off the ballroom.  It does however have a 'conference center' feel in the hallway outside...

The HI is closer to downtown, walking distance to a few pubs/bars and restaurants.  The Courtyard is, well it just isn't.

I think we're leaning towards the Courtyard...

I'm not sure if you're open to other suggestions, but I have been starting to look around Concord and here are some of my other ideas:

    Capital Center for the Arts
You would need to get catering but they have a list of places they work with. No lodging, but it's walking distance to hotels.

    Audubon Society: www.nhaudubon.org/rental_mcla.html
You would need to rent a lot of stuff and get catering, but it's a beautiful little spot and you would get some great pictures.

    Kimball Jenkins Estate
I've never been but hear it's really pretty. I think it would only work for a smaller wedding.

    Common Man
I think they only fit like 75, but it's a nice space. They also are one of the catering options for other places.

    Beaver Meadow
Golf course owned by the city. Would work for under 100.

    Red Blazer
Restaurant on Manchester St. They have a large upper room. I'm not sure how fancy it is, but the food is supposed to be really good. They also do catering.
