We are having our ceremony in July, 2011, lakeside in Lake Tahoe. Our reception will be at Edgewood Tahoe, which is a big country club there in South Lake Tahoe. The place is wonderfully versatile--we can go formal or casual, as it's a lakeside craftsman style lodge. I am doing a woodland themed reception, not too formal or glitzy--but the ceremony will be at 5:30PM so we can go either way with our attire.
So here's my problem.
I am in love with the Alvina Valenta 9903 dress. However, I have a concern that it might be too formal/dressy/glitzy if we actually get married on the sand next to the lake. Here are some photos of the dress:

And here are a couple shots of our venue (not our colors, of course):

Does this dress look "too much" for the beach by the lake? Does it seem like it could work for a woodland themed reception with lots of wood, bark, and moss in the arrangements (I am doing manzanita branches with hanging votive holders on my tables)? I just don't want to pick a dress that will look horribly out of place...
Thanks for your advice!
