Hello,
I have already purchased my wedding gown (see picture below), but I'm having trouble deciding on a veil. Plain or lace? Length? The boutique owner suggested a very long veil that extends past the length of the dress so that it won't visually cut off the draping in the back of the dress. But I'm afraid this would result in hiding the beautiful ruffling/bunching (not sure what to call it) that peeks out of the bottom of the dress.
Also, what about hair? I'm torn between a Veronica Lake-style down 'do vs. a soft updo.
Any suggestions? Thank you so much for your help!

(Note that my dress is in Ivory, not the color pictured).
Re: Styling my Vera Wang Jane
As for your hair, I am a fan of updos for brides. I just hate to see a bride in this gorgeous and pricey gown only to have their hair down and kind of looking like it would any other day of the week.
BTW, I love your dress! It is very different and detailed but simple and beautiful all at the same time.
I agree with PP's veil suggestion! Cathedral length would be gorgeous and would not take away from the dress.
This dress has a vintage-like feel to it, so I would probably leave my hair down with glamour waves and a nice sparkly or pearly comb- kind of like this:
Gorgeous dress, and I also ditto the updo. I think Maggie's is stunning, with the low bun.
I know it isn't a single-tier veil, but I was wondering if the following would work nonetheless; I really would like to have my face covered when I walk down the aisle. I love the idea of the groom lifting the veil at the altar.
Do you think this would work?
White by Vera Wang Two-tier Cathedral Length with Raw Edge

That veil wouldn't work the way you are wanting it to. The veil in the picture has two tiers pretty much the same length, if you were to use one of them over your face you will be tripping all over the place.
What you want is a blusher along with the single tier cathedral veil. that way you have the beautiful length in the back but them something that is quite a bit shorter in the front. You can get blushers in different lengths and I would recommend something that is probably elbow length.
